Custom Website: Anjali Rao

I’m so excited to share a client brand and website design that launched this week for Anjali Rao - a yoga educator, activist, speaker and writer.

BRANDING:

In her branding, her primary logo is a serif font created by an Indian Type Foundry feels honorary and intersection when juxtaposed with a sans serif font. Using a typeface from an Indian Type Foundry was also intentionally chosen so that whether she chooses the serif or sans serif font for any branded, she can type the Devanagari script with ease.

As such, her secondary logo is spells out ‘Anjali’ in the Devanagari script treated with the movements in the letterform to show the energy and connectivity that Anjali brings to her work.

The brand icon was created with the intention of using it as a browser favicon and on social media. The curved lines intersecting with the long pill shape references the connection Anjali has with the communities that she is a part of. You’ll see that the letter ‘a’ is only partially connects signifying her individuality in a system that constantly wants us to conform.

WEBSITE:

In Anjali’s website, we focused on bringing together the impactful blog articles, yoga workshops, and speaking engagements through the collaborations that she has cultivated. I focused on creating a layout that present a lot of content without overwhelming anyone who is viewing the website.
