Custom Website: Alli Jones Ewing

Rebranding from the word ‘safe’? That was Alli. Previously, alli’s body of work was called safe space yoga project and after much studying in relational spaces, Alli took intentional steps to rebrand, which included her website.

Because the word ‘safe’ is so synonymous with yoga studios and healing spaces, this was a rebrand that Alli was ready for. As a trauma sensitive facilitator, Alli understood that every step had to be intentional. So, we created a newsletter and social media launch plan to inform her audience every step of the way.

This rebrand became alive in Alli’s mind when a friend, fellow teacher and a woman of color in the Tacoma community said:

“how white people love calling spaces safe when in fact that was causing harm for communities of color.”

Even though it was hard for Alli to wrap her head around what she called ‘her good intentions’, things began to shift after she began studying with Michelle Johnson and Tristan Katz. Shout out to our mentors!!!

So we scratched the name ‘safe’ and chose to reclaim her maiden name as well as her married name: Alli Jones Ewing. This became a prompt for many other visual touch points such as the intertwined circles of evolution that became Alli’s logo.
